Mormor and Besse - Awesome Grandparents!

I really love my grandparents! I am fortunate enough to still have my grandparents from my mothers side around, and man am I happy about that!

A little while back the whole family drove to Nøtterøy, outside of Tønsberg, to visit Mormor and Besse, as we call them. Their proper names are Bjørn and Svanhild Christensen, but it feels strange to call them that. They have always been Mormor and Besse.

Mormor has been sick most of her older life. She's had several types of cancer, and she has M.E. (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), which makes her very tired. This day she felt ok so it was fine that we visited her. This was a special visit, since Mormor and Besse had never seen Timmy before. It was special to see them both hold their great grandchild, and I felt blessed to be a part of the moment.

One thing that is for sure when you visit your grandparents, is that you won't leave hungry! We brought some pizza that we all enjoyed, and Mormor had made her special raspberry jam! I can't even imagine how much of Mormor's raspberry jam I've eaten over the years! I'm pretty sure I've reached actual tonnes by now!

Milla and Matheo also enjoyed being with their great grandparents. Matheo couldn't wait to tell Besse that we had been out fishing with the fishing rod and equipment we got from him a while back. Days with visits like this tend to get a bit boring for the kids though, with many hours spent in the car and trying to stay calm and quiet during the visit. Fortunately, Mormor and Besse has a TV with some kids channels. :-)

We left Mormor and Besse's place full with food and with a warm fuzzy feeling inside. That feeling you get when you've been with someone you truly love.

No more excuses! Push push push!
