What's Up With Robust Dad?

Well, as some of you might have noticed, there hasn't happened a lot at lately. It's been over two weeks since my last update, and that wasn't even an interesting one...

Sunniva Rose, an old friend of mine, just recently wrote a blog post on how her blog had to suffer since she had to prioritize differently. I feel the same way.

After the summer it's been really tough to prioritize the blog. I love my family to death, but I must admit that it takes quite a lot more energy having +1 kid = 3 kids in total. Work has been extremely tough after summer, with new and difficult challenges awaiting each day. It has been tough to separate work and home completely, making things even harder at home. There has been quite a lot to do at church as well.

I do not intend to nag, or to whimper about all of the things I have to do, because I know most of us have tons of stuff to do. Probably much more than we can and should handle. What I'm trying to say is that sometimes extra activities in life needs to get shoved all the way to the bottom of the list of things that "need" to be done. It is more important to think about your family and how you feel inside, than to be a part of absolutely every thing and activity all of the time.

A friend of mine told me that we need to be happy about all of the good things we actually get done, and not nag ourselves over the things we can't do. We cannot do everything to the fullest all of the time.

With all of this said, I urge you to think about how you prioritize in your life. Do you spend your energy and time with, and focusing on, family and/or friends? If not, consider doing it. That's what works for me, and makes me truly happy.

No more excuses! Push push push (for your family)!
